Masha Krasnova-Shabaeva is a well-russian illustrator. She was born in Ufa but currently she is based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. She studied in Ufa College of Arts and Bashkir State University as well. She drew for such famous magazines as Afisha, Bolshoi Gorod, Esquire, Interni, Elle, GQ, Rolling Stone and others .That\'s what she writes about herself:
- I\'m really captivated by a human being, its inner world and its communication with outer space, objects and reality in general. Frequently this theme may be accompanied by gender context, because i feel an inclination towards portraying the subject through the prism of my own personality. Therefore I don\'t like depicting any particular personality. I want to talk about generic experience of the individual without specific and personal details...my working experience unexpectedly assisted me to become aware of my intense desire of creating more generalized abstract, but more deep and sensitive, forms separated from the matter. my recent pieces fully demonstrate this tendency. sometimes there is no person at all, but anyway it\'s still there.
Since 2004 she has been working as a freelance illustrator in different Russian (and sometimes foreign) magazines, mostly editorial illustrations in realistic style. She uses pencil, watercolor, acrylic on canvas and digital prit while working.
I find always so many particularities that can describe real russian roots! And i like the way she reflects her heritage in a contemporary style!
I should admit, she is not only illustraror in her art pieces but an artist!
