Ira Frid
Offbeat approach to jewelry
20 March 2011 года
Ira Frid — one of the few jewelers who is very much concerned about uniqueness and mission of their products: not only they should sparkle, but also accentuate individuality of the owner.
— All my insides confront jewelry stores, where everything glitters the same, robots should better wear that. I want my product to be special, and emotions I put in every single piece to interact with people, exchange energy, bringing warmth to those who wear and to me as well.
Inspired by nature, she creates simple and touching things, combining silver, gold, wood, using textured surfaces and natural shapes.
— Silver is a noble metal with great potential. On one hand, it is flexible and easy to process, but on the other — naughty, and loves attention. If your ring feels neglected it will turn black. It also heals people and can tell you that your body is not all right by growing black right on your finger. But if you cherish it, the ring delights your eye and self-polishes while wearing. Silver acts differently with every individual. Individual attitude — that is perhaps what I like about it most!
In her middle age she did not want to spend much time going to college, and went on to jewelry courses.
— This course didn\'t last long, but I took maximum out of it, I knew what I wanted and had faith in myself! This will be my encouragement to all beginner-level jewelry designers!
